And if it does, what have you noticed about their techniques? What have you noticed them doing about public religious figures? Every part of the world has had its share of violence, but every part also wants peace for the most part. I remember seeing on TV when I was younger, before marriage, about Pakistan and how it looked like a desert. But when I actually went there, it was just like the US, but the men and women were wearing different clothing yet still walking as families. From what I saw on TV, and what I saw with my own eyes, it seemed as if a desert looking area was hunted by the media and chosen as their depiction, when there is no desert there. What do you think of the following?

I personally think the Indian culture is closer to the Asian (oriental) culture. Both cultures stress respect to elders, peace of mind, meditation, discipline, familial bonds...basically Buddhism for the most part.
Besides, Indians and Chinese are hella smart and successful in Academics.

So, it is 'who I am and why I live' the same as William Shakespeare's Hamlet thought, "To be or not to be, that is the question ". It is a matter of searching for the pure and needed Truth. There are no two identical objects even if they are twins. As a result, if there are two or more religions, either one of them or none is true. Do I embrace the real one or mine is fake?!!!

Do not allow others affect you to attack or advocates any religion since it is your own benefit or detriment: paradise or hell. To get to the shore safely, you should use your own brain. Do not form your attitude upon the words of these people who are for or those who are against one religion. Yet, you have to choose the people who are famous for being fair to read for or listen to. Also, think why great thinkers and scientists etc … of all nationalities embrace Islam nowadays in spite of the big efforts exerted to attack that religion.

My husband and I live in Australia together. So, my parents, brother, and sister came from the USA to our "English" wedding in Australia (my father-in-law wanted to but couldn't... he was the only one from hubby's side). This was a very small wedding (10 guests) my husband and I payed for it, and I wore an Indian dress (saree) for my husband. My parents spent ,000 on the trip. They didn't (and still don't) talk to my husband's parents, which my in-laws find very insulting. My family is that way and nothing will change them. We are having a second wedding in India for my husband's family. My parents and brother are coming, only for my husband (his request). They have no interest in this wedding. They are also stopping in Europe, and the total cost for this trip is another ,000. My father-in-law is covering ,000 of the Indian wedding cost and my husband and I are responsible for the rest. My husband also regularly pays his father- monthly- to cover debts and his parent's living cost (basically, we are paying for the whole wedding). My father-in-law just sent an email to my father that very directly and politely asks for ,000 toward the Indian wedding. He added figures (false) to make the cost of the wedding a total of ,000 and said as per universal customs my dad should pay half. My dad answered back a polite no. My dad is furious with this email and my father-in-law is enraged with the reply. Who is right anyway? Should my dad be paying anything? Is there some cultural backing for my father-in-law's anger that I don't understand? I do not feel that my dad should have to pay anything to my father-in-law but now my husband agrees with his father. How do I fix this between the two families? I already feel bad because I would have liked an American wedding with my own family rather than the Australian, and for making my family fly all over the world at their expense.

I am a product design student doing a academic project on Public toilets for Indian Urban areas. Being a male, i just cannot ask a woman directly how they go about their business.

So i want to know what are the difficulties faced by Indain women while wearing the saree, and use toilets in terms of how they remove their saree, their undergarments and how they are able to cleanse themselves afterwards. Also are there any major differences between male and female toilets/urinals or should something extra be added to Public toilets work better for women.

I assure u i am no pervert in wanting to know all this... this is my last resort to get this data...
The final aim of the project is to design a low cost toilet for Urban India to be put up on a large scale.
So any information , even if i cant directly reference it to Yahoo answers will still help me understand the problem further and point out new issues that i would never think of , for the simple fact that i m male and can never imagine how using the toilet would be for a woman.
I have chosen the saree because i assume that it will be harder to use the sarree in the toilet than a salwar kameez.. but i could be wrong!
And i can never get a woman to actually show me how she goes about her business.. so that limits my best chance of collecting solid , first hand data

Why do people who have never been to a country only go by what they have heard or see on the TV? And why do news crews try so hard to portray all women as being swathed in sheets and bags when this is not the case? I've been to Pakistan, a so-called "islamic" country. You know, where you've heard of unislamic honor killings being done (Islam says rapist gets stoned to death, not victim). I remember getting off of the plane in Lahore and looking around. The entire trip, most women were very loosely covered, if covered at all. Many only had the "dupatta" hanging off of their shoulders, but not their heads covered. And the style of clothing is so tight that even big chested women don't need a bra. I actually had to fight to get my own clothing made loosely because it was so tight I could not breathe. Why do you people (not all, some) hold so tightly to stereotypes even when they're broken right in front of you?
I also saw a question where a nonMuslim told a woman "try going uncovered in Saudi Arabia and see how long you last". Actually, for hajj to Mecca, the holiest place for Islam, it's forbidden for women to cover their hair. They may only dress modestly, but their heads may not be covered. I guess there goes that theory right out of the water, huh?
