I know in Pakistan/Afghanistan/India/Maybe even Iran and Bangladesh people wear Shalwar Kameez/Saris/Frocks.....is there any sort of traditional clothing for Arabs besides the thobe for men and abaya for women...?

Assalamu Alaikum

for example in some cultures you it's rude to show the soles of your shoes. Stuff like that. Thanks.

Also, not just unacceptable body language but interesting things they do (as far as body language) that is not done the U.S.

Pakistan has a comparative advantage in the production of cloth and clothing, and the United States has an absolute advantage in the production of these goods

i need design books or pictures like maybe from movies books, websites, i dont know how to find more pictures i've googled and looked at pictures but theres only so many

We found that many different relisions are leaving happily(dont know still happy or nt)...there are some moral values that have bind them together. What are they?

I consider myself very luck growing up here in Toronto, Canada. I moved from different districts consisting of very diversed cultural groups. I was born as a muslim overseas but I chose not to follow the religion due to personal choice. I have friends from all over the world with different back ground, believes, cultural practices and interests. We all have one thing in common, we respect one and another and never questioned each other's fashion expression or music interests unless it's inflicting physical harm. I have Muslim friends from Somalia and Pakistan that wears hajib, I have Jamaican friends that love their raggea inspired clothing or simply body flattering clothes, I have friends that dresses in Goth and also there are the hip pop lovers too. I have latin american friends who love colorful sexy clothing as they told me it's just common to dress like that especially in Brazil because it's almost part of the culture. Me personally loves androgynous men's wear and loose baggy clothes because it's my preference at the moment. Some of my white canadian friends dresses like regular people without the stereotype of westerner prancing around half naked. We as common multicultural people never judge each other base on our clothes. Fashion is simply fashion or cultural. Non of my friend including me feels pressured to look a certain way as I have tried African outfits, Indian Sari and simple plain jane. Clothing does not represent the soul purpose of a particular individual but rather a statement of expression at their stage of life. Sometimes clothing is being passed down by culture or it really don't have anything meanings. One time me and my friends (Pakistani muslim, Jamaican dancehall teacher, Canadian, and a Latina) all dressed our own style and went to a concert here in Toronto. It was a Indie soul music theme. There was hajibs, short skirts, heels, tight pants and me the Adidas's break dancing gear. No one approached us or discriminated us at the concert because of what we were wearing..........BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF EDUCATED, CIVILIZED MATURE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO DONT LOOK AT FASHION AS A GATEWAY TO ONE'S PERSONALITY! my question is, for muslims, do you respect other's fashion choice such as Goth, Salsa outfitts, shorts for my island ladies, or men's wear on female? As I learn from my best friends, a lot of countries in the Caribbean wear less covered up clothing because it's simply their culture or climate reasons.
this is for more reserved muslims. I respect the fact that muslims too can choose to dress however they believe
of course one should not dress for the sole pleasure of others and give up their own believes such as some women who wear no underwear under short skirts to please men. i do bare in mind people do judge not matter what i wear and i have been called a lesbian because of men's trousers

would she react?

Okay so we all know Pakistan and India are 97% alike, I mean our food, skin color, traditions, language, clothes, movies, music, standards etc are THE SAME, the only difference is Religion.

so as I was saying, in Indian movies, they are very open to nudity, sex scenes/kissing, aldultry, skimpy clothing YET that does not happen in reality, of course it does BUT not as open, just like in Pakistan.

my question is, is it portrayed realisticlly? do indians really wear skimpy clothes like that? do they do stuff like that?
I know being a Pakistani, we dont BUT of course there are always gonna be people that do, but our movie industry does not show it so openly(some do of course) but its always highly critisized, how come not in india? I just saw a beautiful cover of Vouge INDIA with a bikini-clad girl, nice cover but would NEVER happen in Pakistan , not now atleast

Is India ahead of their time in that sense? cuz I always wondered, do indians dress/act like that most of the time..
THANKS
@ joe

yeah but what I'm saying its excepted
girls can wear bikini's etc like its no big deal yet Pkaistani & indian culture is THE SAME and in Pakistan its no where accepted , another thing is when a PK actress does a certain sexy scene she is NOT respected, yet in india its NO BIG DEAl, lol its werid but I wanna know how it got from where it was to where its now

I know its not TRUE portayel of Indians but its accpeted meaning it might have some truth to it
@ Taglo

actually I was reffering to MOVIES, not drama's

yes the drama's arent even close to the movies

Go watch Jab we Met, Jism, Murder(should be rated R)

i've never been into teh sari very much. but my aunt's wedding is coming up and i'm actually finding myself into teh idea of wearing a saree! (preferbly a net kind!)...but i'm 13! i know that many ppl wear them even earlier but i would really love to! do you think I would be allowed? ( my relatives and would it be apprpriate)?

Hello peepss

Well, i got a small problem, i had long straight hair, but now i've had a bob hair cut. Next week, i'm attending an indian wedding and i'm planning to wear an indian outfit 'a saree'.. so do you think, this will be cute?!? i mean, wearing a saree and having short hair?!

Thanks for your answers..

How do you know which saree is made well?

What is the best material for them? Silk?

I am going to a wedding and everyone is wearing sarees and some are wearing kameez suits.

I see sarees for 0 and ones for 0. Will you look cheap in a cheaper one? Can anyone tell?
