I have a question and i hope you can help me with this.Previous year summer when i did not wear the hijab yet i made/bought lots of clothes when i went to Pakistan for my brother's in law wedding..but mostly clothes are half sleeves what can i do about that? It is a pity not to wear the clothes anymore because the sleeves. I deciced to wear the hijab when i came back home from Pakistan it is almost a year now that i wear the hijab.

I am currently in Pakistan. I wear my neat & tidy clothes while going for prayer in masjid. But when it comes to my slippers they are just ordinary. The reason behind this is they might be stolen as it usually happens in here. So i am feeling myself guilty while wearing nice clothes and not an up to standard slippers. i am worried.

just need your help that what is according to sunnah ?

okay so i ordered a parcel from pakistan that had clothes in them. they sent to parcel on december, 2 2007 and it was supposed to be here in 10-15 days. and it still hasnt arrived yet

i am getting worried i called the post office but they say they dont know

Okay, if you have an Indian, who is Muslim, wouldn't they just be considered as Pakistani? I mean, in Pakistan, they speak Urdu, which is the same as Hindi, which is widely spoken in India. And Pakistan is prominently a Muslim country. They do wear similar clothes in Pakistan as in India. So wouldn't an Indian Muslim just be concidered Pakistani? India IS the birthplace of Hinduism. And only about 800,000,000 people in India are Hindu. And Nepal is ALL Hindu and Buddist (which that religion also came from India), and it's not even the birthplace of Hinduism.

Undoubtedly it is the age of women. They are competing with
men in all fields and want women rights respected everywhere. Some say that women in the US enjoy equal rights as men and are better off than women in Muslim countries.

As far as I am concerned, my entire life has been dominated by women. I loved and respected my mother thoughout my life. Then enters my wife and carry me away. We have a perfect division of work. I earn, she spends. Centre of her activities is home whereas I mind outside business.. I
shop food items and she buys clothes and shoes. I teach the children, she talks to them. Naturally they love her more.

When I visited US, I found women hardpressed between workplace and home and saw them struggling to do justice with both. To avoid sustaining women after divorce, they live without marraige or marry Thai women. Who's better off?
There is added question of wife beatings. Some wives get beaten up both in US and Pakistan, which is equally shameful.
Men in Pakistan love their wives and do not let them work for money. They buy expensive jewelary and designer dreesses for them. They proect and safeguard their wives and would even give away their lives to save them.

Ladies have to live with some restrictions. But this is the same as you would not let a young child roam on the roads. They get full respect of the children, because they are thankful to them for their time and effort, wheras when a woman loses her charm upon
ageing, in US, she loses her job and nobody appreciates her efforts.

You find many elderly women in US wandering here and there, but in Pakistan the elderly, specially the women are kept in the homes of their sons. Recent a friend told his young wife. You know my paradise is under the feet of my mother. It is not under your feet!. Exceptions apart ,what is your decision?

I was looking through some of my clothes and realize that a lot of them come from countries like Cambodia and Pakistan. I don't want to support a company that basically exploits human workers, especially children.

Such a dilemma...on one hand, I get great clothes for a great price, but unbeknownst to me, I could potentially be supporting some type of sweatshop. However, if I don't buy these clothes, then the workers won't get paid (generally speaking)...does that make sense??

who wears turbuns on thier head... i believe they wear turbuns to cover thier long hair. but why do they have to use a turbun wy cant they do gotti or leave thier hair open. dont you think weaing a turbun in american public and walking on the street can lead them into racism situation. they should change thier way of wearing clothes and thier way of living the life if they wanna convert themselves into modern society of america's. why do they remains typical for life even though they are no longer living in INDIA or PAKISTAN. i have seen many muslim gals covering thier head with scarf and some cover thier whole body under a thing called (burkha) i agree that they do follow thier religion and culture but staying in a country like AMERICA they should not confront in public as a typical human being. i am not making a fun of anyones culture or religion. but its a 21st century and they should learn the way of modern living. no offense to any muslim or indian being.

I am Muslim and I am proud to be Muslim but i have realized that although im the one living in america and i am 100% american(my clothes, friends, things i do, way i act) I am more decent and more religious then my family in pakistan! and also the Pakistan government is horrible, and yea we had nothing to do with 9/11, but theres a lot of stupid muslims who do stupid things like suicide bombers. There are quite a few places to donate clothes in my area such as Good Will, thrift stores and Planet Aid containers. Many of these locations have said they receive way too much clothes and at times cannot accept anymore. And I see on tv many poor people around the world with nothing but the clothes on their backs. When the earthquake hit Pakistan there were children walking in the snow with no socks or shoes. So does anyone know where all these clothes are going and how come people who really need them are not getting them?

I often hear people say why don't we ever focus on our own country's poverty, hunger, etc. whenever someone mentions another country's need and yet they do nothing themselves to help the need in their own country. A hungry child in Africa is still a hungry child no matter where he lives.
