Hi. I need to design a collection for my fashion designing class. It needs to be a collection of Indian clothes ( ethnic wear). I need a theme. Any suggestions?
I need to know:
The food they eat, what sports they play, what fashion they display, and their music that they listen to.
I also have to do a project, but I dunno what to do.
(Poster, paintings, sculpture, etc.)
Help would be much appreciated.

"Mareee" isn't any better.

I guess..all kinds of Indians?
He didn't really be specific.
I among others i believe are enchanated when we see beautiful women wearing sarees. The dilemma is of course not wanting to offend, although i have read some answers on here that most or not offended. That brings me to the main dilemma. I dont want to be looked upon as an impersonator/poser not knowing the familiarity of the culture. There is tons of history behind India itself let alone the fashion. Is it beneficial to do research? Does it matter in the end? Or does it show some respect towards the culture itself. Im just scared of offending anyone.
i have to attend marriage in Dec in north india .can u please suggest me what stuf & colour should i wear.what r the colours in fashion for winters.i want to wear a good party saree with resonable rates.any shops in b'lore for good sarees & suits?
I have a psycho friend that jumps on everyone and ANYONE who wears grey and khaki together.Particularly grey shirts, and khaki cargo pants. Is this a fashion no-no? My other question relates to sarees, can I wear black casual oxfords with this green saree?

I always wonder that the old indian ladies never show their navels in saree, although a bit of strip remained uncovered but the new girls dress in saree in a very peculiar fashion i.e. it reveals their nave(belly-button) this way or the other; or else the material of saree is too thin to allow others especially men to see all the belly; this I presume is more common in dramas and bollywood films but could be seen in the common Indian girls; I want you all Indians(for I am not myself) to suggest that what is the motivation behind these indian girls which force them to do this; or is it that they themselves want to show their navels.
Kindly also comment something on the navel showing scene from red saree by Aishwarya rai in "Mistress of Spices"; do you think it was right for the girl of a bit conservative origin to indulge in these kind of acts abroad; and why these people of bollywood(Abishek) are shameless, for they ignore all what their wives have done in the past.
I would prefer Indians answering and I apologize if anyone is hurt; I assure you I don't mean to hurt anyone.
Thanks.
Eid's coming up and I just don't know whats in fashion!! Can you please tell me whats in, pictures, links and websites would be a real help!
