i am pakistani and black but i was wondering should i wear indian saree or indian clothing?

I have some Indian clothing and was trying to find a dry-cleaning place that knew how to clean them. The only place that I found told me that they were unable to dry-clean clothing with plastic beading, and would only do it if there was glass beading (which nobody does anymore because glass beading is so heavy).

Is this true? If that's the case, is there anyone who knows a better way to clean salwar kameez or churidar?

Please help...Sites which ship to New Zealand would be very appriciated also they have to be buy online ones and they obviously have to sell indian clothing eg. Salwaar Kameez, Churidar, pajami suits ETC.
Need sites ASAP thank you very much.

I am somewhat decent with my Pakistani and Indian clothing terms, but I saw a wonderful style of pant, and I need help with finding the name so I can better search for them on the net...I've only ever seen them called "bell bottoms" in stores and online. These pants were worn all the time by Puro in the Hindi movie "PINJAR"

They are basically a normal pant, but at the KNEE, they bell out through the use of gathers, attatching a second piece of fabric at the knee, and the bells look exactly like a skirt. They give a wonderful flowing movement while walking. They differ from the 1960's/Vintage bell bottoms, since these "skirts" are added on to a regular trouser leg, RIGHT above the KNEE, some other styles have the gathers higher or lower, but I do not like that shape/cut.

I hope someone knows what I am talking about...Do they have a specific name? Like salwar, churidars, etc....are they correctly called "Farshi Pajama"?? The illustration /description just shows them MUCH longer...
I found another name for them " Farshi Gharara" but they STILL are too long, and trail on the floor....sigh.....

These are the pants as sold on ebay, BUT the gathers are above the knee, and not where I'd prefer they'd be, but I can assume they'd be called the same thing in whatever culture they originated...They are imprted from India, but the seller describes them as Boho flared pants, so that gets me no where as far as finding more...

im wondering because i think their clothing is so beautiful. im black and cherokee indian. i would like to wear Indian clothing but i dont want them to feel insulted because im not exactly one of them

I am studying abroad in India this coming Spring, and I would really prefer it if I didn't look like a tourist so that I can blend in and really experience the culture. I'm an anthropology major, and I know that if I go around in american gear, I don't think that it would be good, especially because I am a girl... Does anyone know how to sew indian clothing so that I could make myself some before I go so that I don't have to spend as much money as I might have to otherwise? I'm looking for Salwar Kameez, cholis, and maybe the skirts from Kariza designs? Thanks alot!!

I want to shop differently and venture out and I think Indians have gorgeous clothing. are there any indian clothing shops in NYC?

I am not indian...I am a black American woman, and I think Indian clothes are so pretty! I just brought a sari and a salwar khameez...Will I offend Indian woman if I wear it?
thanks for the advice...I think Indian clothing looks no nice, and so pretty!

The only store that actually sells INDIAN CLOTHING that i'm familiar with in surrounding areas is Chhabra's. Anybody know any stores in Miami, Miramar, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines? I'm looking for gorgeous saris/ cholis, jutti (slippers) and jewelry and perhaps henna.

Assalamu alaikum wa ramathullahi wa baraktuh to everyone ^^

I am looking for regular/casual Afghani or Pakistani male Muslim wear.

I have been looking for some, but I can't find one that is not branded. I'm just looking for a simple one, I don't need an expensive one that's like 0.00 with lots of design and stuff on it, because I am only using it to daily wear (not to a party or special occasions). And wear it to go to Masjid and stuff..

I don't mind what brand it is actually, I just want something simple. Like plain blue, brown, black, grey, white, etc. Nothing with fancy design or expensive silk and cotton on it, none of that stuff.

I want to dress moderatley like the way Prophet Muhammad (SAW) dressed. Nothing expensive nothing fancy, just simple.

I want either Afghani or Pakistani casual wear. My friends have it, they are very nice and simple. I want one of those :), but sadly they got theirs from friends who came back from Afghanistan and Pakistan, so I don't know where else to get them but online..

Indian clothing is okay too, because I think they have similar clothing to Pakastani and Afghani (sorry if i am wrong).

I am a guy and I am 5'5..

Thank you for those who answered imformly and those that helped :D

Salam ^^
Oh, it can be Afghani or Pakistani style, it doesn't need to be from Afghanistan or Pakistan.

Is what I meant.

By this I mean clothes inspired by the Chinese and Japanese dress sense, as well as the indian clothing such as sarees and salwar kameez.

The reason I'm asking is cause latley i've seen more and more non-asians wearing these sort of clothes so im just curious.
when i say non asians i mean white people and african americans
