I've been invited to one (punjabi) and i have no idea what to expect, can i wear western clothing or is it more acceptable to wear indian style clothing?

Hi, my question is would it be offensive for someone not of the hindu religion or Indian culture to buy and wear a sari? I'm in the process of helping someone plan a wedding and she really thought they were beautiful and loves indian culture so she's wondering would she be able to wear a sari and have i guess a indian style wedding. I just hope no one gets offended.

I am a 23 year-old American woman. I love Indian jewelry and clothing. I would like to wear jewelry like theirs' and wear Indian style tops. My only concern is feeling like a poser. I won't go as far as wearing saris but I love their culture. Would they find it offensive if I wore their clothing?

im going to a wedding that is very traditional indian style. the dress code is is very traditional indian. so a saree it is for me! im excited as i have always thought sarees were very pretty and feminine, but i have absolutly no idea where to buy a quality one here in the states. also, are there any do's and donts when it comes to picking out one for a wedding? any colors im not allowed to wear? a certain way to wrap it? help me out please!
